Chapter 11: New job

I woke up early that morning and I realized that the sky was full of dark clouds, surely our next night would be under the rain. Yuki was still sleeping and I was looking at him sleeping. He was really happy since I said him that he could stay with me if he wanted. Now I'm not quite sure that I want him to leave me some day…

We arrived at job on time. The manager, Laura, indicated how she wanted Yan to put things on shelves and then asked me to help her make some sandwiches. She seems to be a really good woman.

She was young, around 35 years old, she had long bronze-red hairs. She had some beautiful dark brown hair and she seems to be really tired.

We were talking about different things and then the conversation turn to be a little serious.

- I was wondering if you have somewhere to sleep… You know tonight they say it's going to be stormy…
I was really surprised I didn't understand how in the world she had known that we don't have anywhere to live.
- How do you know that?
- The only thing I can say is that… I know who you are and I also know that the police are after you… They say that you have attacked a man.
- I can explain what append if you want! *not all*
- I don't care… I know somewhere you two can hide I will show you on diner time.
- Why are you helping us like this?
- I have some reason…

She stopped talking with me until lunch and then she showed me a little apartment on the basement of her house, which was standing beside the grocery store. When I entered there, I saw that it was pretty well decorated.

- So what do you think? Do you think you could stay here?
- Oh, yes! That's perfect, but you're sure that we won't disturb you?
- You know you can call me Laura and you will not disturb me at all
- Ok then…

We went back to the grocery store and I fond Yan eating some sandwich I made in the employee's room. When he saw me, he smiled and my heart stopped for a second. I told him what appended with Laura and he didn't understand why she was helping us like that. He found her really suspicious and told me that I shouldn't trust her until we discover what she is hiding.

From now the only person we can trust is us…
